Vestland Seismic Vessels Wins Contracts

28 July 2016 by Vestland Offshore

The seismic source vessels Nordic Explorer and Venturer have recently been awarded contracts by major seismic companies.  The Nordic Explorer is employed by PGS in a 2D survey in the UK North Sea, with an expected duration of at least 60 days.  The Venturer will be employed by WesternGeco in the US Gulf of Mexico, with an expected duration of 60 days, with possibility for extensions.  Vestland Offshore is responsible for both the marine and seismic source management and operation under both contracts.

–We are very satisfied with securing these contracts with two seismic majors in a very difficult market. We have worked extensively with PGS in the past and are very pleased to continue our good cooperation and to have entered into a frame agreement for provision of seismic source and support vessels with PGS.  WesternGeco is a new client for us and we are proud to have been chosen to work for them on their proprietary coil survey in the Gulf of Mexico, says Vestland CEO Per Vidar Hille.
